There are only 10 kinds of people in the world: Those who know binary, and those who don't.
Houses Of Unusual Size are small homes designed to kick the modern western trend of ever-expanding, over-large, too expensive, costly to maintain, heat, and cool homes of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Smaller homes cost less to build, less to heat and cool, less to maintain. They are a perfect example of More with less.
Generally, for the H.O.U.S. line I stick with homes under 250 square feet. For a larger dwelling -such as my 42+ series- (~800 ft.²) the design allows for up to five people to occupy the structure, each with their own bedroom.
Many of my designs are not intended for actual construction, but rather are exercises in efficency. How small can you make a kitchen, while still still maintaining a usable work area? Is there any way to make a bathroom without using floor space on a toilet? (Yes.) Can I fit a bedroom into a wall? (Not quite, but I'm getting there.)
3D files are from SketchUp, a free program from Google, and are saved in the .skp format.
Sadly, most of my designs are in my (dead-tree) archive back stateside, so it'll be a while before I can get them on this page.
