Joke of the Week

There are only 10 kinds of people in the world: Those who know binary, and those who don't.

Haiku Septembers

What Is Haiku Septembers?

Started in 2022, Haiku Septembers is a challenge to write a haiku every day in September. Each day has a specific theme for the haiku. Sometimes participants follow the theme, while on other days, they create haikus independently, free from constraints.

How Do I Participate in Haiku Septembers?

  1. Write a haiku.
  2. Share it anywhere: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or any other platform.
  3. Tag it with #HaikuSeptembers #Haiku #HaiSep2023. Optionally also tag the theme of the day.
  4. Repeat this each day in September.

But What Is a Haiku?

Haikus are a unique form of poetry that captivates with their brevity and profound simplicity. These concise verses, consisting of just three lines and seventeen syllables (5, 7, and 5 syllables per line), have the power to encapsulate the essence of a moment, an emotion, or a scene in a remarkably compact manner. For example:

Haikus offer a glimpse into a world where every word is carefully chosen to evoke vivid imagery and deep emotions. They serve as a testament to the art of distillation, where less often means more. In a world filled with complexity, Haikus stand as a reminder of the beauty found in simplicity.
